Custom Error Pages
Find out more about website error pages, precisely when they display and why you should use customized error pages.
If you have looked at many Internet sites, you've probably encountered some error message now and again. An error can take place in case the web hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you have to log in so that you can see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access a webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file which is not on the web server (Error 404). Getting such messages could sometimes be aggravating because the pages don't have anything in common with the actual website. That’s why some website hosting service providers allow you to set your own error pages which will match the design of your own site and which can have any content that you would like - details why the error has appeared, a suggestion what you can do or even some funny comment. Such a feature shall help you keep the visitor on the website irrespective of the error and the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Cloud Website Hosting
You can set up custom made error pages for each of your websites easily when you use any of our
cloud website hosting. This can easily be done via the Hosted Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all accounts and when you go there, you could set your customized pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You should upload the files to your account ahead of time and enter the links to them through the process. This feature may be de-activated anytime and the options you will be able to pick from are a generic page from our system or a default Apache server page. Custom made error pages could be set with an .htaccess file too. The file should be placed in the domain or subdomain folder and it must incorporate some system code and links to the pages. If you're not tech-savvy, you can copy the entire content required for the file from our Help section.

semi-dedicated server account from us, you may set customized error pages for any of them effortlessly via our custom Hepsia hosting CP. All you must do is provide a link to each file you have uploaded before that and then save the change. If necessary, you'll be able to revert this modification whenever you want and in exactly the same way. If you want, you may use an .htaccess file too. It must be created/uploaded within the domain or subdomain folder belonging to the website whose error pages you would like to change and the content for such a file can be found in our Help article for this matter.
